GLENN MILLER & BIG BAND SPECTACULAR UK TOUR 2020
Press Statement (Tuesday 17 March 2020)
Following yesterday’s Government directive regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus
(COVID-19) and limiting mass gatherings until a date to be confirmed, MSO
Productions Ltd, Producers of The Glenn Miller & Big Band Spectacular which was
due to commence its UK on 20 March, have cancelled the March and April dates of
their tour (Harlow Playhouse, Rotherham Civic and Leicester Haymarket).
We can also confirm that 24 May at Mansfield Palace theatre will not go ahead.
Band Leader Kevin Cunningham said “We have been closely monitoring current
public health guidelines and yesterday’s briefing regarding the recommended
closure of all theatres means that we will not be able to go ahead with our planned
performances.
Obviously, we are devastated for our audiences, the venues we had
been working with and for our wonderful orchestra who have been working so hard
to prepare for the tour.
We will continue to follow government advice and when it
safe to do so we look forward to heading back out onto the road.
This is currently a fluid situation and the health of our musicians and crew, as well as
our audience, are of the utmost importance".
